Our travels so far have been quite the adventure as you would have read, but we couldn’t have gotten this far without the help of family, friends and the kindness of strangers. Trusting in the kindness of strangers has been an important lesson in our travels, so much so that we want to ensure that we remember those who have helped us in their own way, this is part 1 of our Thank You’s.
“The kindness of strangers imparts a valuable life lesson, guiding us to trust the journey, find solace in the assurance that we are never truly alone, and motivating us to persevere.”
| Person / People | Act of Kindness |
|---|---|
| Mac and Vivian | A Marine Major and wife who were friendly and chatty and surprised us by leaving us a kind note and some money on our track for our adventures. |
| Susie and family | For providing us all we need to know about traveling in Alaska. |
| Alex and family | For letting their daughter Eva run and run and run with Tilly (Eva can run!) and providing us advice for travel to Montana. |
| The Ladies in the black car | Thank you for pulling us over and staying with us to tell us that our insulation was flying out. |
| The Worker | Who lent us his impact driver when we had a tire blowout. |
| The Meyers | Who welcomed us as family and allowed us to live our California dream. |
| The Redwoods RV host | During our ‘Axe-ident’ they looked after our RV whilst we got fixed up and then also gave Tilly a toy Banana Slug to make her feel better. |
| RV Family 1 | Thank you to the family who gave us their superglue to help fix our fridge door which just fell off. |
| The Harringtons | For their wonderful hospitality and friendship. |
| The English Guy and his Wife | For yelling at us for driving past his RV to fast and kicking the dust up. Not really a Thank you but an acknowledgement. |
| Harvest Host Ann | For walking us around her Ranch and letting Tilly ride and look after Rain. |
| Harvest Host Museum Lady | Hinting to us that a few spots had access to electrical even though we weren’t supposed to, saved us boiling in our beds. |
| The Canadian Couple | The couple who signaled for us to pull over just to say they admired us for being so far away from home and doing what we are doing |
| Josh and Kim | For being wonderful neighbors, teaching us the Canadian ways and letting Tilly play with Summer for three days straight |
| The Old Man crossing the road | Who when asked if he needed help crossing the road said ‘that he was beyond help’ and will ‘just keep moving’. More of a memorable moment. |
| The Homestead Museum Hosts | Who told everyone we were the brave travelers and were incredibly kind in letting the girls run somewhat rampant around their land |
