This week was one we had eagerly anticipated, filled with the excitement of returning to the place we had called home for so long—a place where we weathered the tumultuous times of COVID and began the adventures of parenthood.
We were welcomed with open arms and spent each evening catching up with everyone. The wine flowed freely, and the food was delicious. Spending time with Great Grandmas, aunts, and cousins was special, creating memories that will never be forgotten.
One of the highlights of our visit was walking our familiar routes, paths we once took to get baby Tilly to sleep, alongside a puppy who knew exactly where to go to get all the treats. These walks brought back a flood of cherished memories and the comforting sense of home.
Another highlight was seeing the garden that we had created thriving, the small baby plants who’s parents lived across the road now teenagers and shooting up to the sky.
Tilly, full of boundless energy, brought a lot of laughter as she zoomed down the streets to the homes of all the people she knew. She spent hours practicing her swimming in hot tubs and pools.
A humbling moment was comparing the size difference between our old house and our trailer. The trailer, though much smaller, has become our cozy new home on wheels.
And of course, after three weeks on the road, it was finally time to tackle some very very dirty laundry. It was satisfying having freshly cleaned clothes, bedding and cuddly toys that hadn’t seen their original colours in a while.
A shorter post than normal but this visit was everything we wanted it to be and more. A beautiful reminder of the enduring friendships, the love and support that helped us navigate through tough times, and the simple joys that we miss so much.
Until next time Acker Way and Dexter Place. All our love. xxx
